Would you park on the right or the left on a hot day? If you would pick the shaded spot then this petition is for you.

Parking lots are a major source of heat. Every time I walk across a parking lot it is multiple degrees hotter than any surrounding area.

Every parking lot should have enough trees with a canopy wide enough that places the entire parking lot in shade. In addition to cooling the parking lots those trees would clean air right at the source of a large group of cars.

Walk on the sidewalk that's not in shade and then in one that's in shade and you'll see that the shaded area is significantly cooler. Every parking lot that we can cool off is going to make a difference. Cooling and cleaning the air in specific areas will help with the overall goal of cooling and cleaning our environment.

If there's no improvement this planet will not be survivable. Let's give today's children a chance
It is time for us to make the environment the most important issue today. Ideally this petition will make it mandatory by law that all parking lots are fully shaded by trees.
