The Village of Lemont has been in contact with developers in order to build massive warehouses and trucking distribution facilities in town.  The proposed sites are near the intersection of 135th St. and Smith Rd.  These buildings will produce a significant increase in truck traffic on all of your local roads from 135th St., Smith Rd., New Ave., 127th, and Archer Ave., and immediately affect everyone in the areas of Lemont, Lockport, and Romeoville.  Unless occupancy and hours of operation restrictions are put in place these warehouses have the potential of being 24/7 facilities with mulitiple tennants.  Every established neighborhood in the area will be impacted by the noise pollution, light pollution, traffic pattern distruptions, and traffic safety issues in an area that does not have the infrastructure to support these increased volumes of heavy truck traffic.  Once these buildings are in place it will open up the door for even more like them to be built nearby.

Act now before it is too late.  The developers will act quickly if this sneaks past the public.  Sign this petition to show you are against the development of this area!
