MyTextMate is a service that will let students at the University of Florida (UF) receive automated, personalized text reminders of their upcoming due dates, as described at mytextmate.com.

Many students find themselves scrambling or simply forgetting to turn in their assignments. MyTextMate makes things simple by formatting and organizing their due dates according to their preferences and sending it right to their phones.

Students at our partner schools report that our service prevents them from missing exams, homework assignments, and other critical due dates, and reduces their academic-related anxiety.

MyTextMate is especially popular amongst students who struggle with keeping organized due to busy schedules or learning disabilities like ADHD, which is why I originally created the service.

We frequently receive requests from UF students to be able to use MyTextMate, but our requests for UF's approval fall on deaf ears because administrators don't believe students need the extra help.

We at MyTextMate, however, believe students should decide for themselves if they want the extra help that our service provides, which is why we are asking you to sign this petition; to give the power of choice to the students.
