The content of this petition reflects the views of many parents at Llansannor Primary School. The following petition has been written in consultation with ……up to and above 50% of those parents.
We are writing to express our deep concerns over the unease that has spread throughout Llansannor School following the announcement of staff departures in September. We have been unofficially informed that a number of staff at Llansannor Primary School want to leave their current employment and are applying for vacancies elsewhere. We are very concerned that their decision is based on the impending changes in the management structure in September.
In the last year Mrs Cook, acting as Head Teacher has embraced the family community spirit that Llansannor School is all about. She has been entirely approachable by parents and children alike, going massively out of her way in some circumstances to resolve situations. She has stood on the gate most mornings to meet and greet the children and always with a smile. She has helped build up a loyal and friendly staff base who enjoy coming to work and want to be there (this positive attitude transfers to our children) and it is this that is at stake.
With the high number of staff possible leaving, parents are deeply apprehensive about the effect this will have on our children and the wider school community. We are worried that if the majority secure positions elsewhere then this will affect the continuity of care for the pupils and be significantly detrimental to their learning and well being.
In addition to this we are also concerned that the staff morale appears to be very low due to the changes. It is a concern that this has a knock on effect for the children and their learning environment. Staff ultimately have to be happy in their role in order for our children to be happy.
