The university of Delaware is finally opening up the Campus after COVID.  When the new shuttle routes were published it became apparent that one route had been quietly cancelled.  This route serves the whole stretch Main Street including Newark Shopping Center and College Square Shopping Center ( newly renamed The Grove).  It includes access to Newark Post Office and Library. 

The above route is closest on to Newark shopping center but notice it has very few stops. 

I was told students could ride Univision line that picks up hourly on main St.   Unfortunately this is not frequent enough to make it to classes. In addition it is a public service with unvaccinated people in tight quarters.  The whole purpose of requiring vaccines for students was to create a safe environment from COVID.

This effects all students but many students have been forced into slightly off campus housing because of the way the University has handled registration. They made living arrangements based on availability of shuttle service and now don’t have easy access to campus. 

ALL students are affected by this decision. 

The way this was handled gave no advance notifications to students so they could move where they lived or object in a timely manner.   Now leases are signed and they have no recourse. 

The school CAN And SHOULD fix this and return the bus route to pre-COVID routes  Students shouldn’t have to purchase cars or take Uber’s, both are expensive over the long term, to live at school.
