America is facing extraordinary challenges as it grapples with centuries of systemic and endemic racism in our country. Too many people of color have been killed senselessly in the streets at the hands of police and even their own brethren. For decades people of all races have protested for change. That change has been painfully slow in coming. As the debate continues on social media, one side calling for law and order, the other calling for justice, often at the expense of peace, criminally opportunistic factions are engaged in looting, destruction of property, and additional harm to innocent people. 

We need to take a stand for justice and for healing in our nation. Racism exists, both subtle and overt. We as a nation need to finally stand up and take action to solve the problem.

We are calling on our national leaders, particularly President Trump, to convene a national, blue-ribbon conference. A summit to study race relations across America. Help ALL of us to understand racisms roots, where it lives and breeds, create meaningful dialogue, and ultimately, put into action ways to affect REAL CHANGE. 

Immediately upon announcing this summit we can start to bring people to the table. Church leaders, political leaders, historians, professors, community organizers, business owners, radicals from the left and right, and whomever else will contribute to the discussion, will help us learn, and help us heal. Bring the protestors to the table and leave the police to handle the criminals. 

The Summit for Racial Healing will have, as its lofty goal, a dramatic and positive shift in understanding and be a powerful force for good, growth, and PEACE.
