Sal S started this petition to President of University of Texas at San Antonio President Taylor Eighmy and

Along with myself, there are multiple students at the University of Texas at San Antonio, who are in my organic chemistry course. This petition doesn’t apply to just our class though. We believe as students and people, that the university should offer the chance to take a class online or in person, currently UTSA has classes that are ONLY traditional in person, but cannot implement any COVID protocols. There is 100+ students in each class and they are using smaller class rooms but cannot implement social distancing, or a mask mandate and people are selfish and choose not to get the shot or wear a mask and protect others. without social distancing we won’t be able to stay away from others and many people are high risk, have children, or like myself have mental health issues that make them fear things like germs, or things such as OCD, hypochondria, and many more things. there should be a chance and CHOICE to not have to be REQUIRED to be in person when they won’t do anything to implement any safety such as social distancing especially in smaller classrooms. I want to have students sign this and get the Deans attention to help us out and help professors be able to offer an online and tradition class for students. This would help keeping a lot of students in a crowded room, not so many people near each other, and allow those WILLING and capable to go to campus without an issue.
