I'm an alum and used the Women's Study Lounge on a regular basis during my time at MSU! Taking it away/making it co-ed would be massive be step backwards in time for our University.

Women deserve a space where they don't have to worry about being sexualized, or distracted when they should only be worried about studying.

Although I do not know the reasoning behind closing it down, I feel like this is something needed on a large college campus.

I'm signing because I have been raped and I still have to see my attacker everyday because the university won't do anything about it. Now I don't even have a room to go to where he can't be.

This lounge provided a safe place to me while I was a student. Something I want other young women to have available to them.

The women's lounge was a great place for girls to study and just get away from guys every once in a while

I'm signing because while I attended MSU, the Women's Lounge was my favorite place to study on campus. It has big beautiful windows, is very quiet, and most of all, I felt safe there. There is no other space on campus that can compare. I was able to get more work done and concentrate on my work because I no longer had to worry when studying late at night. The women's lounge was also the only place I felt comfortable leaving my belongings while during a long study session when I had to leave to use the ladies room or get a snack. I really loved the Women's Lounge and still have fond memories of going there. I want the women that currently go to Michigan State University and in the future to have that same safe place that I did. It is a very popular place for women to study and it was often hard to find a seat. I ask that you please don't take it away from these women and that MSU bring back the former men's lounge instead.

I am a female student at MSU and I feel that these resources are necessities.
