Dear President Decatur and Kenyon College Trustees,

We are reaching out to you as concerned members of the Kenyon community regarding our school's environmental impact. Two weeks ago, students and faculty alike have participated in teach-ins and other activities to promote a more sustainable future. In light of these events, we wish to share the changes that we as participants, unaffiliated with any student or employee organization, demand towards improving our green footprint as an institution.

  1. A complete audit of Kenyon's current investments, accessible to all students and faculty.
  2. Cessation of all investments in environmentally unsustainable practices and a formal commitment to a future free from investment in private prisons.
  3. A written statement clarifying the College's plan to reach carbon neutrality by 2040, especially with regards to current construction projects.

We believe that through alternative investment in socially progressive markets and implementation of sustainable builds for on-campus development, these objectives are within reason.
