While Chick-fil-A denies having an "agenda against anyone," an investigation by Equality Matters revealed that Chick-fil-A's charitable arm, WinShape, donated nearly $2 million to anti-gay groups in 2009 alone. That $2 million supported groups such as Focus On The Family, Exodus International, and the Family Research Council.
UNT prides itself on being a diverse, open and inclusive campus community. Unfortunately, maintaining a contract with an anti-gay vendor like Chick-fil-A undermines what makes this university so great.
As a student at the University of North Texas, I ask that profit from students not be be used to discriminate, or politicaly oppress the LGBT community. I demand that University remove Chick-fil-A from the Union!
NOTE: We encourage everyone to join this campaign, but If you're a student, staff member, faculty member or alumni, please say so in the "Why People Are Signing" section. Thanks!
Remove Chick-fil-a from the student union.
The University of North Texas must not allow companies who perpetuate discrimination to profit on campus.
