The President just now has already canceled the spring semester for the year of 2021. This will make it a year and a half that we will be in school online. I get COVID is a very real thing and needs to be dealt with seriously, but we are a very small school compared to other schools such as Penn State which just recently canceled. We have been doing really well recently with the amount of COVID cases in the university and I think a lot of the students want to go back to in-person classes. Another semester online would also mean another semester that takes a toll on the students. Some students signed a lease for housing for a year. Now with the whole year online, students have wasted money on their lease when they could’ve stayed home. This goes for all the students in the dorm rooms too. I think I can speak for the majority of the university when I say that the spring semester should not be canceled.
