The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) is a landmark international treaty that affirms fundamental human rights and equality for women around the world. The United States has the dubious distinction of being the only country in the Western Hemisphere and only one of six countries globally that have NOT ratified this treaty. By ratifying CEDAW, the U.S. can strengthen its claim and voice as a leader advancing human rights worldwide.
