To allow Transgender people the opportunity to serve in the United States Military

This petition had 75 supporters

On July 26th, 2017 President Trump, after consultation with his advisors, released several tweets indicating that transgender individuals will not be allowed in the United States Military.

This new policy is a denigration of all service members past and present who are transgender. There is no credible evidence to suggest that transgender people would reduce the lethality or unit cohesiveness of any branch of the military. If anything, this new policy actually hurts military readiness by forcing transgender service members into psycologicallly compromising situations as closeted members of the military.

We call on President Trump to recind his recent policy decisions regarding transgender people in the military. Furthermore, we call on the President to open a task force with the specific plan of integrating transgender service members into the military before 2020.

Our great nation requires a great military, and that can only be achieved by creating a military that reflects the diversity and strength of all of America.
