Stop the repression in Kabylia and freedom to all detainees in Algerian prisons.

Stop the repression in Kabylia and freedom to all detainees in Algerian prisons.
We the Kabyle-American community ask the Biden administration to do all it can to stop the Algerian regime’s repression in Kabylia
The Algerian regime has no regards to basic human rights that are enshrined in the Algerian Constitution and in the International Conventions the country ratified.
Since Independence, and particularly in the last few decades, it has been particularly oppressive.
Algeria’s justice system is not independent and acts under the orders of the military-backed regime.
Kabylia has been in the cross-hairs of the regime for a long time and has concocted a plan to crush it at all costs including strategies that amount basically to genocide.
After refusing to assist Kabylia’s hospitals during the worse wave of covid, after blocking kabyle aid from the diaspora, it set Kabylia on fire burning many villages and killing more than 200 people.
To add insult to injury, it initiated a massive arrest campaign jailing hundreds of activists and journalists, the majority for simply being Kabyle.
We are calling on President Biden to speak in favor of the human rights of the Kabyles, for their right to life and to be who they are. We are calling on him to pressure the Algerian regime to release immediately all those detained for their opinions or political activities.
