The cancellation of total student debt is unfair to the millions who have repaid their obligations. It is also unfair to saddle Americans with more debt when there are alternatives. Government can cancel a percentage, decrease or eliminate interest, extend the payback term. But to wipe out everything is wrong, and it will do very little to stimulate the economy.
42 million Americans have student loan debt totaling approx $1.7 trillion. Only 6% of borrowers owe more than $100k.
Put this on a ballot- ask the American people if it’s fair to saddle us with more debt!
