Sean McCoy started this petition to President of the United States and

For so many years, politicians approve their own pay increases without public consent. Pay increases should be approved by the citizens of The United States of America and not the politicians that serve us.

Currently the salaries for our government are, President-$400,000, Vice President-$233,000, Senators and House Representatives-$174,000, Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico-$174,000, President pro tempore of the Senate-$193,400, Majority leader and minority leader of the Senate-$193,400, Majority leader and minority leader of the House of Representatives
$193,900, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives-$223,500.

What I'm recommending is a Federal Government Salary Referendum, where we the people approve of any pay increases our political government would like to receive. If Congress, President/Vice President, etc. would like a pay increase they would need to submit a referendum for the percent/amount they would like to receive. Then the U.S. Public would get to decide if they are worthy of the pay increase or not with a Yes/No vote during the general election.

Personally I have never had a pay increase without a job review and why should our government get away without one too.

Please sign, share, etc. Hopefully  our wonderful government agrees that the public voters should decide whether or not they get pay increases. If the government works for the people then the people should decide whether or not they should get pay increases.
