Legalize apostate and gay rights in Afghanistan

Legalize apostate and gay rights in Afghanistan
Why this petition matters
Apostate (agnostic, atheist, freethinker, humanist, skeptic) and LGBTIQA (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersexual, queer, asexual) Afghans face unique legal and social challenges. Both apostasy (the abandonment of one’s own religious belief) and homosexualism (sexual attraction or sexual relations with persons of the same sex) are criminalized under the current laws of Afghanistan. As such, all religious and sexual minorities risk the fate of honor violence and/or fines, incarceration and capital punishment without the due course of justice. Pressuring the Government of Afghanistan to recognize apostate and LGBTIQA persons in will pave the way for millions of persecuted Afghans to become a protected class and defend their right to exist. By signing this petition, you will emancipate apostate and LGBTIQA Afghans and help transform Afghanistan into an inclusive democracy.
