With key tools of 18 USC 924(c) & 21 USC §851, better known as an 851 (or 924c) enhancements, is a tool that the Government will use to dramatically increase a sentence. Which give the the Government a tool to enhance a person sentences for crimes of their past by two times (e.g. you time carry ten with 851 morion it is now twenty). The problem with this math are thousands of people are held illegally with this enhance and more recently would have been released since the First Step Act changed the true application of this enhancement toward all personer. Franklyn Piggie, Stephen Hendrson, Jerry D. Patterson and others would be home if our President & Congress would simply make that provisions retroactive to all persons. The good news is Taylor vs. United States is pending before the U. S Supreme Court that will ( at least) help some on the 942c.
