It would be better for the children not having school the following day, and parents aren’t rushing home from work to get the kids into costumes

It just makes sense. On a week day you have to stop trick or treating to get the kids home to take a bath and go to school the next day!!

YES, move Hallowe'en!! Having kids go running all around outside at night, eating tons of candy, and then making them get up early for school the next day to function is insane! Some evil teachers even give homework on Oct. 31st - EVIL!! Hallowe'en on a school/work night has never been good for kids, parents, or teachers. It's just cruel to everyone. Move Hallowe'en to the weekend or give us the day off on Nov. 1st , for the love of God! The kids would get their rest, the grownups would be able to enjoy trick or treating, parties, drinking, etc., without having to get up and face hell the next day. DO lT!!! You have my permission to strike out Columbus Day and replace it with Dia de los Muertos!!

I’m a teacher, and I se how hard it is for kids to be ready to learn at school the next day when they are so tired from trick or treating the night before.
