Emily Beary started this petition to President of the United States and

We are calling on the president of the United States to increase federal funding for childhood cancer research. Every 2 minutes another child is diagnosed with cancer, but research funding only gets a mere 3.8% funding by the federal government. That's a penny of every dollar that the government spends daily. Our kids lives deserve more than a penny, they deserve treatments that won't kill them faster than the disease itself. On August 3rd of this year my 2 year old son was diagnosed with stage 3 Wilms Tumor. The tumor was in his kidney, and growing around his major blood vessel in his belly. I believe that if there was more research he could have been diagnosed before it turned into a stage 3 cancer. But that is our reality because there has to be one million active cancer cells for the machine to detect the cancer. This leaves 60% of the children that are diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 cancers because it can not be caught soon enough.. well NO MORE, THEY DESERVE MORE THAN 3.8%. Sign and share this so kids like mine can have a fighting chance against this ugly disease
