U. S. Army Sergeant First Class Pascal Cleatus Poolaw, Sr is the most decorated Native American in history and deserves to be awarded the medal of honor. Sergeant Poolaw earned 4 silver stars for valor: 1 in World War II, 2 in the Korean War, and 1 in Vietnam, where he was killed in action. Poolaw was from Oklahoma and was a member of the Kiowa tribe. 1SG Poolaw was killed attempting to rescue his Battalion Commander and his staff from an overwhelming enemy assault. As 1SG Poolaw was carrying a wounded soldier to safety, he was struck by a rocket propelled grenade and killed.
