Eric Lander has admitted to bullying and demeaning subordinates in the White House OSTP (e.g. see this Politico Story).  He also has a track record of endorsing known racists (e.g., Jim Watson), cozying up to and giving legitimacy to known sexual predators (e.g., Epstein) and belittling the accomplishments of women (e.g. CRISPR heroes story) (e.g., see this by 500 Women Scientists).

Such behavior is inappropriate for anyone in a position of power in science and especially inappropriate for the USA's top science advisor and head of the White House OSTP. 

President Biden has said "If you are ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot. On the spot. No ifs, ands or buts".

It is time for President Biden to live up to that promise.  

We hereby call upon President Biden to remove Eric Lander from his positions as Presidential Science Advisor and Director of OSTP.
