In a capitalistic country, equal pay for everyone, women and minorities, will always be a topic that requires a solution. Even though many people work for private companies and the Government cannot do much since capitalism limits the amount of Government intervention, there is still a lot of injustices in the workforce. Women, in most jobs, do not make as much as a guy that works the same position they do, and teachers do not get paid for what they do. Teaching is the most important occupation the world because teachers prepare us to take on the occupation we'll have in the future, or for some, teachers prepared them for the job they have now.

I find it ironic how our history teaches us about "Woman's Suffrage" and more that have to do with women fighting to be equal to men, but they still have to fight for equal pay. The U.S. Government is fond of teaching students things like this just to make them think that the government cares about what they care about. We need to stop teaching these things about women fighting for equality when the issue still exists and it is ignored. It is a good thing to acknowledge to progress women made but they have been fighting for equal pay for many decades. It started with World War II, women had to take the roles of the men in the workforce. After that, they realized they can do the same type of work men do, so they started pushing toward work outside the home.

Now that women are allowed to have jobs, they just need the respect they deserve which is being paid as much as the guys that work the same position at their jobs. In 2016, women's earnings were lower than men's earnings in all states, according to a survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. I wanted to bring this topic to many people's attention because my mom is a teacher and she has told me that she does not get paid as much as the men at the school. Even though she does not make a big deal out of it because she simply enjoys her jobs and has accepted the way things are, I still want to women to be paid the same amount as a guy working the same position and I just do not see how it is fair.

The only way to solve this problem is if men join this battle for equal pay. Since these companies do not take women seriously, they will definitely take the men that are sincerely supporting women seriously.
