Nikolas Zuraff started this petition to President of the United States and

In the sixties and seventies, the United States of America went through periods of change. And the biggest was the unrelenting fight for rights and equality within our nation. And yet, despite the positive changes, we are still fighting for those goals.

Even today, some are still suffering from the same injustices that plagued the country back in those turbulent times. Whether it's because of race or skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc., they're faced with many challenges and obstacles that make life harder for them.

The time to act is now. These people need our help. Those who care must do something. Please help these men and women who are faced with an uncertain future. If nothing is done, then future of the men, women and their children will not be a good one. The clock is ticking, time is running out. Those who sign this are these people's only hope.

Legislation must pass in order to protect those being discriminated against. If action is taken and permanent legislation is passed, children's future will be much brighter, and the country will be beautiful home for those living within it.
