My name is Elizabeth Trendle. I’m a 25 year old single mother who suffers from a lot of different mental and physical health problems. That’s not why I’m writing this petition. As a woman who is medically prescribed Marijuana in the State of Michigan, I find it unfair that Renters/Tenants, are discriminated against for their use of the drug. Seeing as to how it is now legal in our state amongst many others I don’t agree with the decision to discriminate against them because of their choice in habit.  People smoke cigarettes and they’re not told they’re unable to rent, or threatened to be fined. I’m a MEDICAL patient, and I’m being prevented from being able to medicate myself as needed because of the policies against my kinds of people. I’m sure I’m not the only one who faces this issue. I think it’s in everyone’s best interest if we allow the same courtesy’s of designated smoking areas, so on so forth, for those who smoke recreationally or medical marijuana. I would sincerely and deeply appreciate if we all set aside our differences for something as frivolous as this, and come together as the great American people we are. It would not only help the greater good of the people, but also the State. Thank you for your time and consideration. Your hard work is appreciated.
