We all rely on the healthcare system.

Doctors, nurses and all associated medical, hospital, ER, and urgent care clinics  personnel are on the front lines against all diseases, including the novel coronavirus. It has been reported that there are looming shortages of critical gear and supplies (masks, protective gowns, sanitizers, respirators, etc.). Many of these supplies were bought up by a panicking public, leaving the situation for the doctors, etc. in much worse shape.

Proposed: There should be a medical supply chain, completely independent of anything we consumers can buy. Never again, should medical and medical-related personnel have to compete for the tools and supplies of their art.

There should be a much greater stockpile of all critical items (beds, masks, sanitizers, etc.) The stockpile should be set up by doctors, scientists and other related professionals in the field.

The stockpile should be secured and grown at some reasonable pace during benign years so that gear and supplies can be distributed as needed during the harsh years.

No one from the public should ever be allowed access to this supply chain. Never again should there be a threat of there not being enough beds or enough N95 masks, etc.

The Federal government is uniquely situated to make purchases at the most favorable price and to medical specifications.

Let's make our medical infrastructure so robust that it will never be threatened again.
