SO THIS IS HOW WE TREAT OUR VETERANS?
I am a Veteran. But that is beside the point. If any man, woman or child is treated unfairly, it is not just the problem of those that know the problem exists, it is the responsibility of the Country that helped to create the problem in the first place. We would NOT be where we are today if it were not for the men and woman of our Armed Forces, and we owe them considerably more than what we are giving them currently. Don't you think so too?
Reality. According to the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, currently 7.9 million people in the United States are unemployed. According to the same Bureau’s statistics, at least 573,000 of those 7.9 people are our men and woman who served in the United States Armed Forces. So this how the United States of America rewards its Veterans for having safeguarded their lives?
Disturbing is that Chase Bank and many other banks like it offer Veterans a considerable number of perks for putting their money into their banking institutions. However, 573,000 of those Veterans CAN'T take advantage of those benefits because Chase Bank, Capital One and so many other banking institutions like them have ignored the plight of our Veterans and sent their jobs overseas to take advantage of even more destitute in other Countries; all in an effort to increase the margins of profit. They start by moving their CALLS CENTERS to either the Philippines or India.
Here is the problem: if you are a Filipino citizen and you work for a Chase Bank CALL CENTER, you might earn about 2,000 (PHP) pesos as month. At the current exchange rate that is $42.00 US Dollars. However, a soda in the Philippines costs about 10 (PHP) Pesos or the equivalent of $10.00. What is fair about that for the Filipino people? Does anyone care? Chase Bank, Capital One and other banking instituions don't care because they are making at least an additional $1,950 US Dollars for each job they send overseas while ignoring the plight of Americans and its unemployed Veterans.
What is just as disturbing is that Chase Bank, Capital One and other financial institutions and corporations like them are also making it extremely difficult for the elderly and the disabled to get adequate help and service as a result of these actions. Ask any elderly person -- most of them do not understand a word that the CALL CENTER operators are saying because their accents are so heavy. So, even if you want to speak to someone who speaks English, you will be lucky to find one that doesn’t speak without a heavy Filipino or Indian accent.
Therefore, I ask for your help on behalf of each and every man and woman who gave their life to protect yours -- as well as your fellow Americans. Apart from singing this petition, drop a note Informing your congressman and your senators that you want them to introduce bills that would mandate substantial taxes be levied against any Corporation that employs anyone outside the United States while Unemployment continues to soar in the United States -- a tax of not less than 3% of the institutions gross profits per month for each job sent overseas.
Then close your account with any financial institution and/or corporation that employs people outside the United States and tell them why.
AND. There are some fantastic credit unions that employ only Americans and only people in the United States. And they will remember your name when you walk in the door. Does Chase?
One of my favorite banks: UMPQUA. Too, check out Chevron Federal Credit Union. I am sure there is a credit union near you that would jump at the chance to help you, and your community.
