Premise: US government should pay for THOROUGH & COMPLETE ancestry/lineage of every Black American that wants it. This would go a long way to soothing 1 of the major wounds caused by slavery: the repairing of our IDENTITY. Arguably 1 of the most DAMAGING results of the slave trade was that most Black Americans today have no knowledge of their true roots. GIVING THAT BACK would show Black Americans that the country we are supposed to love GIVES A DAMN about us and... at a basic level: you're taught in kindergarten that when you make a mistake & hurt someone or take something away from them, you are supposed to genuinely apologize & make it right. Why does that stop or change just because one party is the government & the other party, it's citizens??? Let's get back to the basics and make some things right.

Let's be clear. This will, by no means, erase the anguish caused by slavery, or wipe away the systemic racism woven into the fabric of every major institution. However, we've got to start somewhere. The last several decades, we've seen small changes, big changes, empowering changes, etc. But we're always chasing, fighting for, striving for LASTING CHANGE. This would be a huge step in getting it.
