Charles Pritchard started this petition to President Cyril Ramaphosa and

We are asking our honourable president, Cyril Ramaphosa, and the government leadership of our country to (as a matter of urgency) allow Catholic Church doors to be opened, for priests to administer Holy Communion in Holy Mass, and to be allowed to hear people’s Confessions and absolve them of their sins. Many are starving spiritually as they are unable to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in Holy Mass and cleanse their souls in the Sacrament of Confession. As a result of not being able to celebrate these important healing Sacraments, our bodies, minds, souls and spirits are being compromised, and evil is gaining more authority in us and our environment, causing unnecessary pain, suffering and torment.

Our Lord Jesus Christ told us 2,000 years ago that unless we eat his flesh and drink his blood we will have no life in us (John 6:53). Receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in Holy Mass gives us this life and sustains us to love sacrificially in Christ’s image. It is our daily bread that we ask for in the Our Father prayer, it is the lifeblood of society and is a violation of our human rights to be deprived of the bread of life.

One of God’s commandments is for us to keep the holy the Lord’s Day, i.e. to go to Holy Mass every Sunday, which is now being disallowed. Many graces come to this world through those who assist in the celebration of Holy Mass. This country needs healing and we need to embrace our Ultimate Healer, our Lord Jesus Christ in his sacrifice of Holy Mass to assist us. Jesus must be placed at the forefront of the battle against this coronavirus and all the other evils plaguing our society, not left alone in his Church tabernacles.
