Not to sign the Bill of Karnataka government to provide reservation in Promotion

It has been made clear by the Hon’ble Supreme Court that any State Government cannot give preferential treatment to any community in promotion. It has been observed that the employees under SC/ST category are getting promoted within 5-7 yrs, whereas those that are not in SC/ST category have to wait for more than 25 years for the promotion.

The State Government is forcing many employees who have excelled in their education and career to work for superiors who have been promoted only on the basis of their caste and no other merits.

This has led to unrest among non-SC/ST employees who under the association of Non- SC/ST employees (AHIMSAA) (in Karnataka) have requested the government to implement the apex court verdict in connection with the promotion of state government employees.

But we were despaired when the State Government of Karnataka decided to pass the bill to give reservation in promotion, which benefits only certain community, inspite of request from AHIMSAA  and strict orders from the Hon'ble Supreme Court to not give reservation in promotion.

The bill was sent to the Hon'ble Governor of Karnataka who has sent the same to the Hon'ble President of India. The state government is bound to implement the Apex court verdict, but the government is trying to pass the bill which is against the Constitution and against the Apex court verdict. Hence we sincerely request to review the orders issued by the Apex court and kindly not sign the bill which gives reservation in promotion.
