ARK EDUCATORS ACADEMY SOCIETY started this petition to President of India and

To, In His Excellency The President of India,

To, The Respected Prime Minister of India.

People elect the MLAs and MPs by analysing their candidature in two steps :

1) Their personality,

2) Their affiliation to a party.

In the present constitution of India, an MLA or MP won from a party can change to another party during their tenure.

This is leading to horse trading and also making us (people of India) fools.

In the elections, we have elected them to represent us from our constituency. Also, we think twice to vote a candidate by looking at their party position.

Then, if the law permits MLAs and MPs to change their political parties after winning elections from another political party, this is creating huge dissatisfaction to the voters of India. Not only dissatisfaction, but also these party changing politicians are playing with sentiments of the People who have voted them.

Please amend the constitution by not allowing any MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) or MP (Member of Parliament) to change parties being in the position. If anyway, they want to change the political party, they have to resign from MLA and MP, and again bi-elections should happen in that constituency.

Thanks and Best Regards,
