CardiopulmoLife Ghana started this petition to Office of the President of Ghana

The effects of global warming and increasing plastic and other waste products have made certain parts of Ghana a niche for homicide by natural disasters.

This is particularly very frequent during the rainy season which peaks at the months of June and July. The poor drainage systems coupled with bad sanitation practices have increased the chances of flooding at the slightest downpour.

We're therefore signing this petition to bring our policy makers into a realization and also urge them to take necessary steps to resolve this national crisis. We're using this petition for a national holiday as a point of reference to get the whole country to tackle this issue with seriousness. We do not have to wait for thousands of people to lose their lives before we act. We have witnessed enough and it's time to start a movement that will demonize negligence that results in loss of life.

We're therefore pleading with the government agencies to view this movement as a positive influence on rural and urban development and a demand for public safety. We're also going to plead with the public to embrace this with seriousness as the future of the country depends on it.

The day will serve as a Public holiday to mobilize the whole nation to step out of the offices, classrooms and the comfort of their  homes to help clean up our cities, towns and villages to prevent flooding.
