ONE AYINDAA started this petition to PRESIDENT OF GHANA and

Dixcove, a town in Ghana's Western region has suffered years of chieftaincy rift and under-development because of divisions between its Upper and Lower divisions. A recent contention over ownership of a small piece of area called Turome, led to a fracas between the two divisions in May of 2019 with many people on both sides getting injured and losing properties and livelihoods. In July, 2019, two days before the President of the Republic was due to visit Dixcove to cut sod for work on a fishing Habour project, a group of people attacked the Chief of Lower Dixcove and some of his elders leading to serious injuries and loss of even more property. We, the citizens of Ayindaa (Ahanta), where Dixcove is located are concerned that the simmering tension in the town as a result of this is recipe for chaos that is waiting to unfold. We are afraid that the local security set-up, despite the hard work they have put in to restore calm and order, are overwhelmed by the various interests involved. We are therefore humbly asking that The President, His Excellency Nana Addo-Dankwah Akufo Addo, the Acting Inspector General of Police, The Chair of the National Peace Council, The National House of Chiefs, The Minister- Western Region to step in to 1. Deal with the perpetrators of recent happenings
2. Intervene over the jurisdiction of Turome for lasting solution of the feud.
