The War on Drugs is essentially a War on People. Millions of people use recreational drugs and are forced to buy them from the black market. If you take the drugs out of the hands of the Mexican Drug Cartels and into the hands of a regulated system, we can raise trillions in taxes and and actually fight drugs as a MEDICAL problem, not a CRIMINAL one. Prohibitions have never worked and never will. Portugal decriminalized all drugs. Use and crime left Portugal(once a drug filled land). The War on Drugs gives the cartels a job. United States citizens are free to do what they'd like to their own bodies in the privacy of their own homes. Until they violate someone else's rights, they are constitutionally free to do with their body as they please.
