Commencement is known to be one of the most celebratory and pivotal times of our lives. It is not only the acknowledgment of our four years of achievement, hard work and dedication, but it is a chance to say thank you and goodbye to our professors who have impacted us, friends who have become our family and college campus that has shaped us. While our community is facing a turbulent and devastating time, it would only impact Georgian Court University and its students negatively to not have our commencement ceremony. Georgian Court University prides itself on our Mercy Core Values mentality, the tightness of our community and deep routed connections. Students work hard for four years and deserve the time to celebrate our accomplishments together as a community. In addition, commencement is not only a time for seniors, but also their families. Some  of our students are first generation graduates and finishing college means more than being handed a certificate and a virtual graduation.  With that being said, Georgian Court University’s Class of 2020 is requesting that our graduation ceremony not be canceled or held remotely, but postponed to a time when it is safe to celebrate each other together. Please support Georgian Court University’s Class of 2020 and help us have the end of college experience we deserve.
