Petition Closed

President Joel,

We sign this petition to voice our dissatisfaction with the administration’s decision to cut the Yeshiva College Dramatics Society’s theater production from the Dean’s budget. Without those funds, YCDS will not be able to continue its valuable work on campus, lacking the resources to support its traditional high-quality productions. The loss of the Drama Society’s presence on campus deeply concerns us, and we request that you consider its reinstatement.

We are members of YCDS who have been enriched by our involvement in the profoundly ennobling work of theater production, whether on stage, backstage, or in the box office. We are students, faculty, and alumni who enjoy the privilege of attending a professional-grade play on our own campus, produced by our peers. We are affiliates of Yeshiva University who recognize and appreciate the importance of having a theater production as part of a liberal arts university and the unique opportunity it represents on an orthodox campus.

We thank the president for his words of encouragement at this year’s fall semester town hall meeting and appreciate his dedication to the society. We are thankful for the generous support he has provided during his tenure and are confident that he will continue to do so in the future.

Thank you for valuing our voices.
