It’s important to give students an opportunity to adjust to and consider the new learning standards. Not all classes and professors transfer well into an online format.

I am worried about finals even though I have good grades right now. I want to be able to decide at the end of the semester if my classes can be pass/fail

In light of the circumstances, students should be allowed to take control of their studies and ensure the situation does not negatively affect their GPAs. Students should be able to decide whether pass/fail is an option they wish to choose AFTER the final course grades are posted.

Schools such as UW Madison and University of North Carolina are offering this option for their students. I am grateful for the current support, but ultimately it is stressful to make a choice when I am not sure how my finals will turn out. This option would greatly reduce my stress and allow me to focus on learning to the best of my abilities instead of focusing on this big decision.

Our current education system is unfit for productive learning and we haven’t gotten adequate compensation.
