I’m signing this in memory of my beloved piano teacher Naomi Sparrow, who was a member of the Mills Chamber Players and who also premiered many of Darius Milhaud’s works. But Im also signing it because as an arts journalist, I know that much of California’s important avant garde history has been overlooked and it’s deeply shocking that in one of the richest areas of the world, a small slice of some gazillionaire’s fortune can’t be found to preserve this important piece of music history.

The College has produced many great musicians including my former voice teacher Dorothy Ohannesian Renzi. The decision to drop music makes no sense to me.
