Omicron is extremely contagious and wearing masks inside class isn't enough.

Omicron is more transmissible than Delta and—as it did in the U.S.—it will likely become the predominant variant in most places. However, how this will affect our classrooms and student life?

Dr. Chin-Hong who specializes in treating infectious diseases stated, "Anywhere, not just indoors, where you're spending a long time in, like more than an hour or thirty minutes, then you really need to up your COVID precaution game,"

If classes resume on campus, how do we know if our peers may or may not have covid? Some people are asymptomatic, or may not be aware they have covid until days later. Jeopardizing our health and safety is not fair to ask of a student. CSUN has the capability of being online and in the midst of this new wave of covid-19, staying at home seems like a better option.

Even though online learning is not ideal nor for everyone, a school's priority is the safety of its students and faculty. However, that promise cannot be ensured if we return to campus. I implore you to sign this petition if you are concerned about getting covid and spreading it to the people you care about or that are around you.

Our health is important, so if you care about this issue please sign the petition.
