FAST America and Rejoin the Paris Accord. We need to rejoin for the sake of our children, our families, our neighbors, our communities, our nation, our world. We the undersigned will start a *FAST on September 9th, 2017 and continue doing so once a month until the U.S. rejoins the Paris Accord.
FAST Schedule starts Sept 2017: 9/9/9, and continues 10/10/10, 11/11/11, and 12/12/12. In 2018: 1/1/1, 2/2/2. 3/3/3, 4/4/4 and etc until the U.S. re-signs Paris Accord. See below for more details about FAST.
FAST Details: Sept 9, 2017: 9-hour fast on the 9th day of the 9th month from 9am to 6pm (using your local time). October 10th: 10-hour fast on the 10th day of the 10th month from 7am to 5pm. November 11th: 11-hour fast on the 11th day of the 11th month from 7am to 6pm. December 12th: 12-hour fast on the 12th day of the 12th month from 6am to 6pm.
Jan 1, 2018: 24-hour FAST: If we have not achieved our goal by the end of the year, we will begin the New Year with a one-day (24 hours) FAST — on January 1, 2018. Feb 2-3: If we do not achieve results then we will FAST for 2 days starting February 2nd (Feb 2-3). Mar 3-5: If there is still no change, then it will be 3 days starting March 3rd. April 4-7: 4-day FAST starting April 4th.
And so on and so forth, increasing one day per month, with increasing disruption of our lives, (and decreasing consumption) until our leaders see that we are so upset about this neglect that we have lost our appetite. We have no stomach for this kind of irresponsible behavior. We are in deep concern, meditation, protest. We are FAST-ing. We will continue this FAST until the U.S. rejoins the Paris Accord.
*FAST = liquids only spiritual quest to sharpen our internal focus for the goal of external harmony: the health of the earth, and all peoples and all life. This accomplished in part by removing solid foods temporarily from the routine of our lives. In addition, put away your credit card during FAST days, and do not make any purchases. FAST-ing in this sense means a break from our consumer routines, as well as our food and meals routines. Food waste just happens to be one off the biggest contributors to needless energy production. As the FAST length increases, disruption of our economy simultaneously increases, and disruption of "business as usual." This is our sacrifice for the sake of mother earth. Balance is achieved as consumption decreases. The FAST increases clear thinking and well being. It leads to greater understanding of our atmosphere, our oceans, our lands and rivers, and the role humans have in each. This will inevitably lead to better decisions made by our leaders.
