We are asking the government:

1.  That Religious Institutions may qualify in terms of Section 31 of the Bill of Rights of the Constitution to be recognized as essential service. 

2. That Religious Institutions be afforded the same rights and opportunities as those who exist by way of Incorporation, namely to obtain permits as essential service providers.  (The latter's leaders are able to obtain permits on the CIPC website, whereas the former's are not.)

3. That Religious Institutions be afforded the right to commence and continue to provide and or distribute food/shelter materials and life sustaining goods and or to conduct feeding schemes, to their constituents and/or all those in need. 

4. That Religious Institutions be afforded their Constitutional right to meet.

Bill of Rights of the Constitution Section 31:

Cultural, religious and linguistic communities
31. (1) Persons belonging to a cultural, religious or linguistic community may not be denied the right, with other members of that community—
            (a) to enjoy their culture, practice their religion and use their language; and
            (b) to form, join and maintain cultural, religious and linguistic associations and other organs of civil society.
       (2) The rights in subsection (1) may not be exercised in a manner inconsistent with any provision of the Bill of Rights.
