President, Congress, all american leaders: Extend unemployment benefits Now!! due to expire 12/29/2012

This is actually already in place. Anyone who has been laid-off starting in July 2012 will not be entitled to receive the additional weeks of benefits that the federal government traditionally has provided because the legislation that provides them will expire at the end of 2012. Those benefits originally provided up to 99 weeks of unemployment for the long-term unemployed, but are due to expire on Dec 29, 2012 for all extensions.
In order for unemployed workers to received extended benefits and additional weeks of unemployment beyond their state benefits Congress would have to pass new legislation to cover 2013. It is doubtful that this would happen much earlier than the end of the year. So, as of now, the only benefits in place for 2013 will be a maximum of 26 weeks of state unemployment compensation. This could be less depending on your work history.
There are millions of unemployed in this country that have exhausted all UE benefits. True unemployment is 15% + in the US. I tired of all the flawed and inaccurate information being pumped out by the media. Older workers are at a great disadvantage and cannot find jobs.
Congress must extend the four tiers into 2013 or we will slide into another recession and or depression for sure.
