Why this petition matters

USC's tuition of nearly $30,000 is not decreasing despite nearly 90% of classes being online this fall. For this reason, students should be allowed the option to register for an additional class without being charged extra. The current number of units included in the base tuition is 18, however, including 20-22 units would allow for willing students to get ahead in their education. Students could also take on internships without having to pay extra for the credit that their programs may require. As of yesterday, USC announced scholarships for 1-2 free summer 2021 classes, however, this does not benefit the class of 2021.

For some, distance learning from home is a time that allows for more concentration and less distractions, making this an excellent time to get ahead.
