We, the undersigned, plea that your administration urgently raise the priority of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. The previous American administration and Israeli government have circumvented our conflict, causing tensions to rise and peak in the recent mini-war and intercommunal violence in Israel.

However, now with your administration (and control of the House and the Senate) having made important policy corrections that return sanity to our region, we grasp at hope that something might be done. Similarly, the new Israeli government includes members of parties that support restarting negotiations, and achieved the important appointment of an Arab minister of the Ministry for Regional Cooperation.

We do not assume to fill the role of our leaders or eventual negotiators; but are working to help bring them together and prevent more suffering between our peoples. Lack of progress toward a just and secure settlement of our conflict only opened existing wounds and endangered the security of Israel, the Palestinians, the Middle East, and the world.

Time is not on our side. We implore you encourage our leaders to put negotiators back at the table, and offer whatever help necessary to accomplish that.
