The National Child Protection Task Force supports this petition to explain our efforts to rescue 5,000+ Afghan refugees, including hundreds of orphans and unaccompanied minors, and why we think they belong in the United States. 

Since August 17, a coalition of NGOs led by the NCPTF's efforts and several others have worked to conduct an operation to evacuate 1,500+ unaccompanied minors and sadly 400+ orphans.

One little girl was pushed through the fence with our group while the Taliban shot and killed her mother. No child should have to suffer that kind of loss and then have nowhere to go.   

The National Child Protection Task Force wants the administration to know we have prepared an end-to-end solution including, but not limited to: flying children here, providing safe resettlement homes here in the US, including Afghan families ready to foster, and adopt the children.

The NCPTF asks the administration to be the immigrant children’s champion and say“ YES!” and allow these children into our country quickly. 

We’ve taken all the work out of the front and backside of the 72 hour DHS process. We have no desire to be on the front-page news. We’ll leave that to the experts.

Many of our volunteers are the child of immigrant parents, and we know VP Harris is committed to immigrants finding a haven. There is no one more suited to empathize with and understand what these children are going through than her.

This mission, fully aligned with the Administration's basic premise that our country is safer, stronger, and more prosperous with a fair and orderly immigration system that welcomes immigrants, keeps families together, so they can fully contribute to our country. 

Time is of the essence for this request—currently, the orphans and unaccompanied minors, located in the host nation, UAE. While we are eternally grateful to the Emirate for accepting, providing housing, feeding, and caring for them, sadly, they are only permitted to stay 14 days. We are on day ten as of Aug 31st. 

Please resettle these innocent children here in the US. 

By bringing these 1,900 children to the US, we give them, and the world hopes for a brighter future. By placing them here, in America, we have the opportunity to live up to these words, “the land of the free, home of the brave.”
