Refrain from closing the Salton Sea State Recreation Area
This petition had 66 supporters
The Salton Sea State Recreation area is slated to be closed next year due to lack of state and federal funding. This is the largest lake in California, and has remained a fond vacation spot for generations of California families. As a secluded haven for fishermen, birders, campers, boaters, photographers, explorers, and tourists, it is an indispensable resource that must continue to be maintained. This park has attributed immensely to efforts made to preserve and protect many endangered and threatened species, and continues to educate the public. In light of the recent 54 million dollar scandal regarding CA state park funding, lets push to make the "Reverse Grand Canyon" a nationally protected/maintained recreation area and preserve. Please help my family, my neighbors, and myself save this magical sea in the middle of the desert where so many of us have spent some of the best moments in our lives!
