We are a group of concerned residents in Katrine, Ontario trying to protect Reazin Island and Polly’s Roost (the only two islands on Big Doe Lake) from future development. The MNR has identified these islands as important fish spawning ground, deer wintering area and bald eagle habitat. In the Fall of 2022, the Girl Guides of Ontario plan to sell the islands as part of their Doe Lake Camp. We respectfully ask the Girl Guides to allow these islands (and only the islands) to be preserved so that their beauty and ecological importance remain for all to enjoy.
