One way to prevent even more homelessness is to increase funding for the Housing Voucher Program (Section 8) which assists low-income families with affordable housing. Congress will soon consider cuts, level-funding, or (hopefully) increases to this vital program.
Urge your federal legislators to increase funding to HUD's Housing Voucher Program.
The least we can do is to make sure more low-income families can afford a place to live. The most effective and cost-efficient way to do that is through HUD's Housing Voucher (Section 8) program.
As you make critical budget decisions, I urge you to consider the often-forgotten families at the bottom of the economic ladder. They are desperate for any kind of assistance to keep them from becoming homeless. This program can make a huge difference. Please increase funding for Housing Vouchers.
