NASA's Perseverance Rover has captured a hitchhiker!  
A Martian rock has managed to get stuck in the rover's wheel-well and has been traveling it for several months at this point ... and has affectionately started being referred to as "Percy's Pet Rock"!

One of the stated goals for the Perseverance Rover is to gather soil samples that could be returned as part of future NASA Mission. 

This petition is to try and convince NASA to include Percy's Pet Rock in the soil samples to keep it safe during Percy's travels (and for posterity!).   

NASA Perseverance Mission Engineers and Geologists would need to collect the rock from the wheel and safely store Percy's Pet Rock along with other soil samples.
