Oppose Heavy Industrial Zoning near Residential Land in Troutman, NC
Why this petition matters
This petition is to oppose North Fork Business Park CZ-HI-22-03. Proposed to be a heavy industrial complex with 10-15 buildings. Developers want to rezone a 38 acre parcel of land on the north side of Murdock Rd. from Suburban Residential to Heavy Industrial. This is the same developer that dropped the Walmart distribution center in the backyard of a residential area, just a few hundred feet from single family homes.
If approved, this is exactly what will happen, again. Heavy Industry is being allowed to creep closer and closer to the homes of residents and citizens of Troutman. If approved, this will adversely effect home values, traffic, noise, crime, odor, pollutants, etc. in and surrounding this area.
The town of Troutman has a "Future Land Use Plan" that states the future land development plans for residents and citizens. The plan states that the area proposed for rezoning is to be zoned for Rural Residential Agriculture, not Heavy Industrial. Please urge the Town Council & Town Board to uphold the promise to the citizens in this Land Use Plan and vote NO for conditional zoning-Heavy Industrial on the north side of Murdock Rd.
